Summertime!

Thank you to the men in my life for this wonderful gift!!! (Papaw purchased, Daddy & M shoveled and leveled out ground, Papa and Uncle Jon got tarp and set up pool and little T helped me fill it up with water)

For those of you far away...my kids LOVE the pool and water (insert rejoicing and hallelujahs from this mama). With 3 young toddlers, it is SO WONDERFUL to be able to just step out back and instantly be swimming and playing in the water. Our M man is learning to put his face in the water with goggles on and swim with no floats on. S still isn't sure about putting her face under, but she loves to sit and float. The other day I asked her what she was doing and she replied "just chilling out in the pool".  T still likes to be near the edge, but it is great therapy for him to be learning to walk and run in the water.

Our typical summer schedule thus far has included:
7am Wake up, eat breakfast and put bathing suits on
8am Swim outside in backyard pool
10am Head to splash park or pool
12pm Home for lunch and naps
3pm Head to zoo or pool
6pm Home for dinner
7pm Play outside in pool or on swings
8pm Baths and bed

I keep wondering if the day will come when the kids don't want to go to the pool or go swimming, but two weeks into June and we are still lovin' us some water around here!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Happy Birthday to our M man and cousin Maddux!
More to come on party and weekend celebrations later.
We love you boys and pray God's blessings over your life!

Splash Park

We had the privilege of meeting up with a family from our church at the downtown waterfront Splash Park. This was my first time down there...and let me just say if you live in Louisville and have kids - this is a MUST! It was a wonderful park with both wet and dry playgrounds and a very open design so I could see all three of my kids at all times even when they were doing different things. Thanks Shelly for the invite and a great idea!
All the boys

M man and his good friend Griffin

All she wanted to do was fill up waterbottle in the fountains and then dump it out on either Shelly or my legs. She told me that I needed to "cool off" since it was so hot outside and I didn't have any ice! (my kids are very into ice right now...in drinks...as a snack in a cup...when they get hurt...to play with in the pool...to give dogs as a snack...and the list goes on)

We love our sweet friends!!!

Happy Birthday Will!

Happy birthday to Will! I am SO blessed to have such an amazing husband who continually models the love of Christ for our family.

Thank you Will for loving us so well. You serve me daily and I am so humbled as I watch your joyful spirit through all things! You are an amazing daddy who is doing a great job training up our children to seek after Jesus Christ. Thanks for loving me as Christ loved the church and leading us daily to follow the Lord. Oh...and thanks for choosing a racecar cake this year :) :) :) LOVE YOU!

Tree Down...Water On!

Due to our heavy spring storms here in KY, we had a few trees down at our house. Thankfully everyone is safe, the house is intact and all cars are undamaged! Sadly, our swingset did not make it...

The kids were pretty sad when I explained they could not swing anymore. M told me "It's ok...I will go get my tools and help daddy fix it like Handy Manny does!" So...to console the kids I told them we could use our awesome, wonderful sprinkler that I bought last year at the end of summer clearance. I spent several minutes talking this up to the kids while looking for it... Sidenote to all other moms out there - make sure you HAVE said item you are using to cheer up your kids before you tell them about how wonderful that it is and then discover that you CANNOT find it anywhere in your entire house! SO...we quickly shifted to making it a big deal to ask Daddy if we could use "his special yellow sprinkler" to play in. This poor, sad little sprinkler only puts out one small stream of water but the kids seemed to enjoy being able to run around and eventually forgot about the swingset for the afternoon!

Down in Tennessee

In addition to the college graduation, we were also able to enjoy spending time with Will's family. His family lives only a short drive from Union (where both my sisters go), so it works out great to see his family and my sisters with one trip! When we arrived at their house, it only took about 10 minutes for all of my kids to start begging to get in the pool. It was pretty chilly due to lots of rain and cold nights in May, but they did not seem to mind a bit! We spent most of the weekend in the pool enjoying the fresh air. Thanks for opening the pool for us Grandmommy and Papaw!

So proud to be in the deep end all by himself!
